Wikipedia Edit-a-thon

In October 2012, the Society of American Archivists-Student Chapter at IU sponsored a Wikipedia Edit-a-thon focused on editing articles about past IU presidents. As President, I arranged the event. Associate Archivist Dina Kellams educated us about the sources available to us in the IU Archives, where the edit-a-thon was held, while Chanitra Bishop, IU Librarian and Regional Wikipedian, discussed Wikipedia culture and best practices. The participants contributed significantly to 8 articles which had been previously nonexistent or just stumps. The article on Lemuel Moss was even featured on the front page of Wikipedia!
